Mah!
Italians inspect tourist potentials in Taba
Within efforts being made by the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism, the Egyptian travel office in Rome, in collaboration with EgyptAir and a number of hotels and Egyptian travel agencies, invited 100-member delegation representing Italian organisers of charter flights and travel agencies to visit the Egyptian city of Taba and identify its tourist potentials. The four-day visit began on the 8th of September. The Italian delegation is escorted by a number of Italian press men and television crews representing three major Italian television channels. According to Mr. Amr el-Ezabi, chairman of the Tourism Development Authority, the Italian market is one of the major European markets exporting tourists to Egypt. El-Ezabi estimated the number of Italians, who visited Egypt in 2006 at 800, 000 who spent 6 million tourist nights during their stay. He also remarked that the number of Italian tourists increased by 15 per cent from January to July this year.
