New theory on Tutankamun's parents but will Zahi back it?

Heads up from one of my readers who attended a recent lecture. Apparently for the last 6 months, Zahi Hawass has been scanning and taking DNA from mummies. And he is going to make a big announcement this month about Tutankhamen's parents.

The lecturer in question gave an interesting theory on who he believes to be Tutankhamen's parents. - Amenhotep III and Queen Sitamun. Claiming that Akhenaton was actually his brother! It was all based on a co-regency theory, and it also backs up the inscriptions that were from Tutankhamen-claiming that Amenhotep was his father.

Non mi sorprenderebbe vista la malattia di cui avrebbe sofferto Akhenaton, novità sarebbe la madre di Tut in quanto finora era stata ipotizzata Nefertiti.

secondo me è una teoria che non sta in piedi, e poi finora si è ipotizzato che Kiya fosse la madre di Tutankhamon!

La vera novità sarebbe l'entrata in scena di Sitamun, pricipessa (poi regina)di cui ben poco si sa. Pare fosse figlia di Amenofi III, di cui sarebbe stata sposa secondaria. Finora non si sapeva se il connubbio avesse dato i suoi frutti, anche se la cosa non era da escludere.In precedenza qualcuno aveva ipotizzato che Tutankhamen fosse figlio di Teye, ma l'ipotesi appare quanto meno improbabile vista l'età avanzata della regina.Staremo a vedere...

Se traduco bene: si basa sulla teoria della coreggenza e anche sulle iscrizioni dove Tutankhamon chiama padre Amenhotep III....
Vuol dire che queste due cose unite alle risultanze dell'esame del DNA gli permetterà un responso? Sicuramente (e non mi stancherò mai di dirlo) se non esiste pluralità di informazione e non esistono studi comparati può dire quello che vuole. Se il team è tutto egiziano cosa volete che dicano? Quello che vuole lui.
Ricordate le sue deduzioni sul come è morto lo stesso Tut? E' così e basta.
Vedremo. Infine il fatto di chiamare padre Amenhotep III non è stato già abbondantemente discusso?
